Day Three: Red Coral

Third of the Navdurgas, Maa Chandraghanta manifests the valiance of Maa Durga as she sits on a mighty lion armed with a horde of weapons. Worshipping this form of the divine goddess is known to bestow devotees with great courage and valour along with politeness and growth in one’s life. She is known to be fond of the color grey.

Maa chandraghanta is attributed with Red Coral. It’s the gemstone of Mars, the planet known as the god of warfare. It bestows users with the necessary courage and enthusiasm required to surmount obstacles in life.

Day Four: Blue Sapphire

Maa Kushmanda, the fourth form of Goddess Durga is known as the creator of life and the universe. She sports a gentle and warm smile so intense that it upholds the existence of human life. Orange is the colour that pleases her on the fourth day of Navratri. But among the gemstones, Blue Sapphire, or Neelam as Indians know it, is attributed to her.

Day Five: Emerald

Goddess Durga in the form of the mother of war lord Kartikeya, Maa Skandamata, is worshipped on the fifth day of Navratri. She is revered for her motherly warmth and care. As she is seated on a lotus, she is also referred to as Padmasana. She has a distinguished fair complexion. Hence, on the fifth Navratri Day, she is worshipped with the colour White.

Emerald, or Panna is the gemstone attributed to Maa Skandamata. According to astrology, Emerald exhibits the positive powers of Mercury. It helps users in their financial pursuits, and introduces them to new income opportunities.

Day Six: Yellow Sapphire

Born to the revered sage Katyayan as the result of his penance to please the divine goddess, Maa Katyayani is the sixth form of goddess Durga. She is distinguished by her gleaming complexion, and is known as the defeater of all evil. On the sixth day of Navratri, she is worshipped with the colour Red. Yellow Sapphire is the Navratna stone that pleases her.

Known as Pukhraj, Yellow Sapphire holds the power of planet Jupiter. Its is known as the bringer of prosperity and wisdom to its wearers. It helps them in being disciplined, defining their goals, and pursuing them till ultimate success.

Day Seven: Cat’s Eye

Navdurga of the seventh day, Maa Kalratri is known as the ultimate slayer of demons. She has many legends attributed to her, where she kills several of dreaded asuras. She manifests the fearless and the most fearsome form of Goddess Durga. Worshiping her is considered extremely auspicious if you wish victory over enemies and opponents. Resembling the deep colour of night sky, she is attributed with the colour Royal Blue.

Day eight: OPAL
